Winnebago County and Loves Park Police Join Forces for National Night Out

- In Aliquippa, the city hosted its first-ever celebration at Uncommon Grounds Cafe one month after a July 4 shooting injured four people. The event allowed officers to connect with residents in a relaxed setting away from emergency situations.
- Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis said community outreach helps deputies prevent crimes. "We can't solve crimes without them," Lewis said, noting residents become more willing to share information when interacting with law enforcement outside emergency situations.
- Law enforcement agencies plan to continue community-focused initiatives throughout the year as Lewis expects crime rates to decline further through expanded proactive policing efforts in neighborhoods.
