First mattress distribution for local Salvation Army

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Salvation Army of Central Illinois partnered with mattress company Serta Simmons and program Hope to Dream to give away free mattresses for those in need. They were able to give 140 mattresses to households with children under the age of 16. However, the demand was greater than anticipated, so they ran out quickly.
