The commander of the Civil Protection of Beja, José Horta, took stock this evening of the fire that has raged since 17:04 in Aljustrel, Beja, and which forced the A2 to be cut in both directions. According to the commander, the authorities are more concerned about one of the three fronts, which consumes eucalyptus forest.
A2 is “cut in both directions” in the Aljustrel area, as is the EN263.
During the afternoon, the fire was even combated by 162 operatives, 53 vehicles and seven air vehicles, according to updates provided by the Civil Protection website.
The alert was given shortly after 17:00 this Sunday. Six air assets were mobilized to the site.
Traffic is cut off on the A2 and the EN263 in both directions.
