Strong ground firefighting forces are attempting to extinguish it, while aerial vehicles have also been deployed to the battle, which are dropping water. A fire is raging in the Giolou area of Paphos, with heavy ground forces battling the blaze and aircraft dropping water from above. According to the Forestry Department, the Fire Service holds operational responsibility for the fire and has requested the department’s assistance.
