During her morning press conference from Palacio Nacional, the president explained that the issue was addressed in a recent meeting with FIFA president Gianni Infantino, where the proposal to relocate the Iranian team’s matches, originally scheduled in the United States, was discussed.
Because of the war with the USA, Iran wanted to play its pre-round matches of the World Cup not in the country, but in Mexico.
Iran will have to play its games in the United States at the World Cup next summer. Fifa refused the desire to move the games to Mexico. President Gianni Infantino, who has awarded Donald Trump the Fifa Peace Prize, is uncompromising.
