Ferrari Luce Sold Out for 2027 After Design Controversy

CEO Benedetto Vigna said every Luce Ferrari plans to build in 2027 already has a buyer, despite criticism of the five-seat electric model.

  • On Tuesday, CEO Benedetto Vigna announced that Ferrari's 2027 production run of the Luce, starting at about $615,000, is "fully allocated," meaning every unit planned for next year already has a buyer.
  • Designed by Apple's longtime design chief Jony Ive, the five-seater Luce was widely mocked when it debuted in May. Yet that criticism has not dampened demand for the polarizing model.
  • Ferrari reported third-quarter operating profit of 563 million, while customization accounted for more than 21% of revenue from cars. Deliveries of the F80 hyper-car reflect clients' "ever-deepening desire" for unique vehicles.
  • Vigna noted that buyers must wait one year for delivery, with first Luce units arriving in the fourth quarter. The company targets selling about 600 units annually by 2030.
  • Ferrari raised its full-year guidance on Tuesday, reflecting strong demand for the Luce. The company now expects adjusted earnings of at least €3 billion , up from €2.97 billion.
