ATHENS - A festive day turned into tragedy in a matter of seconds. A Hellenic Air Force fighter jet crashed during an air show near Athens. The plane fell in front of a crowd of spectators who could only watch helplessly. An explosion followed. Both pilots - Ioannis Blesias (†40) and Dimitrios Petrou (†37) - lost their lives in the accident. The armed forces declared three days of mourning.
