Spanish newspaper Sport claimed they have been living apart for nearly five years after Ms Serra, 52, moved back to Barcelona to run her fashion company while her husband stayed in the northwest England city.

The current Manchester City manager met businesswoman Cristina Serra in 1994, at the time aged 23 and 20, respectively. About 20 years later they were married, but the union ended last month.
