Raiola's 4-Yard Touchdown Pass with 28 Seconds Left Gives Oregon a 17-14 Win over Nebraska
Raiola, a former Nebraska quarterback, sparked Oregon’s comeback after the Ducks managed just 91 total yards before his entrance.
On Saturday, Oregon quarterback Dylan Raiola led a comeback, throwing a 4-yard touchdown pass to Jamari Johnson with 28 seconds left to defeat Nebraska 17-14 in Eugene, Ore.
Starting quarterback Dante Moore remained sidelined with a concussion, forcing Oregon to rely on replacement Brock Thomas, who proved ineffective before Raiola entered in the fourth quarter with Oregon trailing 14-6.
Field goals of 36 and 37 yards from kicker Gage Hurych kept Oregon close, while Raiola threw for 59 yards in the final quarter to position the team for the comeback.
The victory improved Oregon to 4-2, preventing the team from losing consecutive home games for the first time in 10 years, while Nebraska fell to 5-2 after losing a fourth-quarter lead for the second straight week.
Oregon visits Illinois next Saturday, attempting to build on this momentum while remaining in contention within the Big Ten Conference standings.
