The European Commission has received an additional €1.4 billion (34.3 billion crowns) from proceeds from frozen Russian assets, the Commission said in a press release on Wednesday. The funds will be used to support Ukraine, according to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Ukraine will receive EUR 1.4 billion from the income generated by Russian assets mobilised, after the European Union has received this amount in March, representing exceptional profits generated from the cash flows from the assets of the Central Bank of Russia held by central depositors (CSD), informs a communication from the European Commission.
The funds will be used to support the State and the army.
