On Tuesday, December 10, the European Union (EU) Cyber Resilience Act came into force, which seeks to improve the safety standards that digital products must meet throughout their life cycle. The Cyber Resilience Act sets requirements for all products containing a digital component, from baby monitors to smart watches, in order to protect consumers and companies purchasing such devices.
The European Cyber Resilience Act, or CRA, came into effect on Tuesday. Among other things, the law requires tech manufacturers to provide security updates to hardware and software connected to the internet for five years.
