On Wednesday 17 December, three Russian border guards entered Estonian territory on the Narva River, which the two countries share. They stayed there about 20 minutes before leaving for Russia. In the face of the increasing incidents, the Estonian authorities do not exclude, in the future, the closure of all or part of the border with Russia.
The Estonian ministry demanded explanations from the Russian authorities after the border incident that took place on Wednesday, in the context of increased tensions between Moscow and European countries, including the Baltics.
