ESA Captures Stunning Photo of Perseverance Rover in its ‘New Home’ on Mars
Among the discarded items was a heat shield that protected Perseverance from temperatures of 1,300 degrees C as it flew through the atmosphere. ESA said as well as capturing images of the landing site, it also helped relay data about the landing back to NASA mission control in California.
