EPCOR DELIVERS WATER SOLUTION FOR RIO VERDE FOOTHILLS, FACILITY OPENS JANUARY 1, 2026

EPCOR replaced a temporary water solution with a permanent filling station and pipeline to secure water access after 2023 Colorado River cuts impacted Rio Verde Foothills.

  • On Jan. 1, 2026, EPCOR Utilities opens a permanent water filling station for Rio Verde Foothills from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., completing the standpipe and infrastructure project.
  • After the 2023 Colorado River allocation cuts prompted EPCOR USA to provide temporary water for Rio Verde Foothills, a permanent station opens on Jan. 1, 2026.
  • EPCOR built and connected the standpipe, one-mile pipeline and infrastructure on an accelerated timeline with Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, Arizona Legislature, Arizona Corporation Commission and City of Scottsdale, and Shawn Bradford said `Promise made, promise kept`.
  • At the new 176th Street standpipe, account holders will access water from 7 am–6 pm daily, and EPCOR will continue providing water since October 2023, as the temporary measures sunset.
  • The permanent station replaces the 2023 temporary setup after months of shortages that drew international headlines and prompted legislative action before the Rio Verde Foothills Standpipe District ends Dec. 31, 2025.
