Espanola marks National Day of Mourning

April 28 was the National Day of Mourning, honouring the lives of those lost or injured in the workplace. It is a solemn reminder not only of those who have lost their lives at work, but of the need for practicing safety in the workplace to prevent devastating accidents. This year, due to the indefinite shuttering of the mill, only one flower wreath was laid outside the main steps to Domtar Espanola, next to the memorial stone.
