Electricity storage capacity has increased, but is growing slowly, agency warns

Last year, the number of batteries used to store electricity was doubled worldwide. New batteries with a total capacity of 42 gigawatts (GW) were added to the network. The total storage capacity increased by 130 percent to 85 GW annually. However, experts from the International Energy Agency (IEA) also point out that, despite significant progress, this pace is still not sufficient.
