Both this August and the July 2024 storm disrupted power supply for almost half a million customers, and for some residents it was not restored for more than 72 hours. Power outages in Lithuania are usually only a short inconvenience, but those who were promised power supply restoration only on August 29 are now forced to think hard about the need for electricity, which many people consider essential these days, according to a press release.
