The Dutch company Giga Storage can start construction in September of the largest Belgian battery farm ever, at the site of the former zinc factory in Rotem (Dilsen-Stokkem). It will feature 640 large batteries capable of storing a total of 2,800 MWh of green electricity.
Dutch developer Giga Storage has secured financing of nearly 700 million euros for the construction of a gigabattery park in Dilsen-Stokkem. The park, by far the largest in the country, will help store increasing electricity surpluses for times when there is no wind or solar energy.
