Dunstone beats Schwaller 5-3 to advance to P & H Masters curling final
Dunstone improved to 6-0 this week and will meet Scotland’s Bruce Mouat in Sunday’s final after avenging a quarterfinal loss to Schwaller.
On Saturday at Co-op Place in Medicine Hat, Alta., Winnipeg-based skip Matt Dunstone defeated Yannick Schwaller 5-3 to advance to the Masters Grand Slam final.
Trailing early, Dunstone scored two in the seventh end and stole a single in the eighth to overcome Schwaller, avenging his loss at last month's Co-op Invitational.
Scotland's Bruce Mouat secured his spot in the final by defeating Switzerland's Philipp Hoesli 7-3 on Saturday, after previously edging Brendan Bottcher's Edmonton rink 6-5.
Undefeated at 6-0 this week, Dunstone faces Mouat in today's final, a rematch of last season's Tour Challenge and GSOC Tahoe finals where Mouat won both.
Japan's Miku Nihira faces Sweden's Isabella Wrana in Sunday's women's final after Nihira defeated Edmonton's Selena Sturmay 6-4 in the semifinals.
