- Drew Brees' career includes 13 Pro Bowl selections, 80,358 passing yards, 571 touchdowns, and a 2009 Super Bowl MVP, while Larry Fitzgerald compiled 1,432 catches, 17,492 yards, and helped Arizona reach the 2008 Super Bowl.
- The full 50-member Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee cast ballots to determine semifinalists after a screening committee trimmed the 128 modern-era nominees to 52 in October.
- The next vote will cut the field to 15 finalists, who will be voted on before the Super Bowl in February; voters will also consider three seniors, one coach and one contributor, with between four and eight new Hall of Fame inductees.
