- The couple were married for 70 years and have seven children. Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir said his father remains stable and is being monitored following the emotional strain.
- Speaking on Wednesday, Mokhzani confirmed, "He was admitted to IJN for observation." Mahathir was visibly affected by the loss, tearfully telling the former king he "didn't expect her to die today."
- Mahathir, who led the Southeast Asian nation for more than two decades in two stints, has a history of heart problems and has undergone bypass surgeries in recent years.
