The four major wildfires on military training grounds in the span of two days stand out, but they are certainly not the only incidents. Last year, things went wrong in the army no fewer than 124 times. Practice grenades and smoke grenades are often the culprit. However, stopping during extreme drought is not an option, according to the Netherlands' highest-ranking general, Onno Eichelsheim.
