Doral Renewables Celebrates Commercialization of the Remaining 900 MW of Mammoth Solar
The project’s final 900 MW is now in service, completing Mammoth Solar’s buildout and expanding renewable power delivery to customers, Doral Renewables said.
On Wednesday, Doral Renewables celebrated the imminent commercial operation of the Mammoth South, Mammoth Central I, and Mammoth Central II phases in Pulaski County, Indiana. These three phases add 900 MWac to the 1.3 GW Mammoth Solar complex.
Engineering logistics required installing 20,000 panels per day over the 18-month construction period. Approximately 1,800 workers attended the site daily at peak to complete the infrastructure.
Nextpower Chief Operating Officer Robert Vinje emphasized the project's economic impact, stating, "Mammoth Solar is a powerful example of what happens when we connect American manufacturing directly to American energy infrastructure."
Doral Renewables President and CEO Nick Cohen noted the project integrates agrivoltaics, stating, "Today is the culmination of true partnership between the Pulaski County community and Doral." The company plans specialty crops and livestock grazing.
Indiana Secretary of Energy Suzanne Jaworowski stated, "In the world of economic development right now, every project is looking for speed to electrons." This development supports Doral's broader portfolio of over 22 GW.
