DoorDash to Create 3,000 Jobs at Global Tech Centre in India

- On Wednesday, US food delivery firm DoorDash opened a global technology hub in Hyderabad, India, planning to create 3,000 jobs over the next two years, the Telangana state government said.
- This new customer support-based operations centre is DoorDash's third such hub globally, joining existing sites in Tempe, Arizona, and Mexico City, and will initially add 500 professionals.
- Following its Pune location, the Hyderabad facility represents DoorDash's second tech office in India, established through the company's 2021 acquisition of robotics startup Chowbotics.
- DoorDash joins major companies such as Costco, McDonald's, Charles Schwab, Marriott, and Southwest Airlines in opening offshore centres in Hyderabad to cut costs and reduce dependence on external IT contractors.
- India has emerged as the world's largest hub for such centres, with over 2,100 facilities employing about 2.36 million people and generating nearly $100 billion in revenue, according to a 2026 Nasscom-Zinnov report.
