'Do not eat' warning issued as flapjacks recalled due to health risk
The Food Standards Agency said the products were withdrawn after labels omitted almonds, soya and wheat gluten, posing a serious risk to allergy sufferers.
Full On Flapjacks has recalled five flapjack varieties due to undeclared nuts, soya, and wheat gluten across all pack sizes and best-before date codes.
On Wednesday, October 21, The Food Standards Agency issued an allergy alert for England and Wales, warning the products pose serious health risks to those with nut or soya allergies, wheat intolerance, or coeliac disease.
Affected products include Bakewell Flapjack, Blueberry Swirl Flapjack, Caramel Flapjack, Raspberry Yoghurt Flapjack, and White Chocolate Flapjack, with Bakewell containing undeclared almonds in addition to soya and gluten.
Shoppers should return purchased items to stores for full refunds, as The Food Standards Agency advised: "do not eat them." The business has withdrawn products and displayed point-of-sale notices.
To mitigate risks, Full On Flapjacks contacted relevant allergy support groups to alert members of the recall, ensuring vulnerable consumers receive direct notification of the health hazard.
