A 64-year-old man from Zutphen has also been acquitted on appeal of the murder of Duncan Zwakke. The 31-year-old Zwakke was last seen on October 17, 1989, in the center of Zutphen and subsequently disappeared without a trace. The victim was allegedly brutally murdered in the basement of a building on Nieuwstad in the Gelderland city. His body has never been found.
