A section of the embankment on the east bank of the Jialu River in Chuanhui County, Zhoukou City, Henan Province, China, collapsed on Thursday night. The collapse was caused by water pressure from the river's upstream basin and a reverse flow from the Shaying River. Following the incident, rescue teams were dispatched to the area and began emergency repair work, with more than half of the embankment quickly repaired.

According to CCTV News, due to continuous heavy rainfall and upstream flooding, a breach of about 30 meters wide occurred on the embankment of the Jialu River in Zhoukou City, Henan Province on the evening of August 13. This caused the Fifth People's Hospital and a driving school downstream to be flooded, with the highest water level reaching 1.5 meters.
