Gotterup Rallies with 62 to Win John Deere
Chris Gotterup closed with a 62 and beat the field by two shots to earn another win at the PGA Tour event, officials said.
On Sunday, Chris Gotterup won the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run, firing a final-round 62 to secure the title at 18-under par.
Following the victory, Gotterup traveled to Renaissance Club in Scotland for the Scottish Open, managing a rapid 48-hour turnaround before his title defense.
Gotterup joins a marquee grouping featuring past champions Rory McIlroy and Scotsman Robert McIntyre for the opening rounds.
"Getting straight back to the house, packing up and getting on a plane to Scotland, I didn't really have time to catch up on all my stuff," Gotterup said Tuesday, describing the frenetic 48 hours.
As the 26-year-old ascends the Official World Golf Ranking, Gotterup aims to maintain the momentum from his John Deere victory into the Scottish Open.
