- This year's holiday is expected to provide approximately $40 million in tax relief to Florida's hunters, anglers, and sportsmen. Combined with the $45 million saved during last year's inaugural program, Floridians are projected to save nearly $85 million.
- Florida expanded the tax relief to include camping equipment and accessories like holsters and cleaning kits. For fishing bait and tackle, individual items priced at $10 or less, or multiple items sold together for $20 or less, qualify for exemption.
- DeSantis broke ground on a new Florida Archery Center at Tenoroc, authorized in this year's state budget. The facility will expand shooting sports opportunities and hunter safety training at the Lakeland site.
- Applications for the 2026 bear hunt are open through September 21, with the statewide hunt scheduled from December 5 through December 27. This continues Florida's expanded opportunities for hunters and wildlife conservation engagement.
