Anna van der Breggen has won the penultimate stage of the Vuelta Femenina and taken over the red leader's jersey from her Belgian teammate Lotte Kopecky.

In a mountain stage of 107 kilometers with a grueling final climb of up to 25 percent, it was a day for the general classification women. Her teammate Anna van der Breggen (36) proved to be the best on that final climb and thus takes over the red leader's jersey. Kopecky remains the leader in the points classification.
