  • Cybersecurity experts warn that over a million users may have had their data compromised by spyware in two apps available on the Google Play Store. The apps, File Recovery & Data Recovery and File Manager, were programmed to silently steal sensitive user data and send it to malicious servers in China.
  • The apps, created by the same developer, had a combined download number of approximately 1.5 million. However, cybersecurity firm Pradeo believes that the download numbers may have been inflated by bots, as there are few reviews for the apps.
