Iowan Charged for Lacing Lasagna to Force Miscarriage
Amber Snow faces felony charges including child endangerment and conspiracy after oxycodone-laced lasagna was delivered to induce a miscarriage, police said.
Authorities arrested Decorah woman Amber Dena Snow, 36, on March 10, 2026, and she faces multiple felony charges including delivering a controlled substance and attempted nonconsensual pregnancy termination.
Investigators traced the case to a Dec. 28, 2025 delivery after police received reports in January 2026, prompting the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office to open an investigation.
Laboratory testing found oxycodone in the lasagna, confirmed by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory, and investigators say Snow and a co-conspirator tampered with the food, while a minor child objected.
Police said additional arrests are expected as the investigation continues, with sources reporting differing bond figures of $1 million and $100,000 cash, while Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Decorah Police Department, and Winneshiek County Attorney's Office assisted the probe.
Court records show Snow shares custody with members of the victim's family, authorities say the pregnant woman had no knowledge of the attempt, and multiple felony counts remain under investigation.
