Artist Dame Tracey Emin ‘Proud to Be British’
The exhibition showcases over 100 works, including early pieces, landmark installations, and never-before-seen art exploring passion, pain, and healing through the female body.
- On Friday, Tate Modern opens Second Life, a survey featuring more than 100 works running until August 31.
- Curators say the show will include works from 1993 at White Cube and examine how Emin used the female body to explore passion, pain, and healing.
- The survey features previously unseen material including The Last of the Gold and Ascension 2024 alongside new photographs of Emin's stoma.
- The artist framed the survey as a benchmark for her work and said, `I’m very excited about having a show at Tate Modern.`
- Presenting work across media, the survey foregrounds themes of healing, abortion, and bodily change, with Emin emphasizing it's a 'benchmark' at Tate Modern.
