Dairyland's Genoa power plant demolished as part of alternative energy conversion

Dairyland Power Cooperative's Genoa Station #3, a coal-fired plant that dates back to 1971, has been demolished as part of the cooperative's transition to renewable energy production. The demolition, which required 400 pounds of explosives, was witnessed by around 100 people. The site will be cleaned up and scrap steel will be recycled.
