Dad Dies After Being Restrained by Jet2 Passengers on Manchester Airport Flight
Police said 2 people were assaulted before passengers and crew restrained the man, and officers later found him unresponsive on arrival.
On Monday, June 22, 2026, a Jet2 flight from Larnaca to Manchester requested a priority landing after passenger Callum Kerr, in his 30s, became "disruptive" and was restrained by fellow travellers.
Before boarding on Sunday, June 21, 2026, Kerr had allegedly consumed significant alcohol and spent the five-hour flight arguing with his girlfriend, prompting cabin crew to relocate her to another seat.
Witnesses allege Kerr became increasingly aggressive, pacing the aisle, headbutting one passenger, and threatening others; one traveller said, "There was a lot of panic, you don't know what people might attempt to do on an airplane."
Officers discovered Kerr was not breathing upon landing and immediately performed CPR, requesting a defibrillator; Greater Manchester Police confirmed he was transported to hospital in "critically ill" condition, where he has since died.
Greater Manchester Police are investigating the incident while family members confirmed Kerr's death to the Manchester Evening News; Jet2 stated it would be "inappropriate" to comment further pending the investigation.
