In a decree published on Thursday, the prefect of the Ardèche Benoît Trévisani closed an associative premises welcoming young girls for learning the Qur'an on grounds of hygiene and safety, the day after an unannounced check by the state services.
A juvenile centre was closed in an emergency on Friday in Annonay following a check showing serious administrative and security deficiencies. The authorities suspect the existence of an underground Koranic school.
