Crash reported on major road in North Yorkshire with delays in the area
On Friday, two vehicles collided on the A64 near Rillington, blocking the road both ways and prompting North Yorkshire Police to urge drivers to avoid the area.
This incident follows a fatal collision on the A63 Selby Bypass near Barlby on Monday, October 26, where a motorcyclist in his early 60s died after striking a red Audi.
North Yorkshire Police arrested the driver of the Audi, a 31-year-old man from York, who "is being questioned in police custody," a police spokesperson said.
Traffic moved "very slowly" following the Friday crash, with drivers diverted via Kirkby Misperton as an eyewitness reported "chaotic" conditions on the approach.
North Yorkshire Police urge witnesses to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or report information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
