A court in Russia’s Kemerovo region, in western Siberia, has found a maternity hospital where nine babies died in the course of a week earlier this month guilty of failing to observe basic sanitary norms, it was announced on Monday.
Nine babies died within a week, forcing the hospital in southern Siberia to close for three months - Their deaths were caused by an intrauterine infection.
The court in Kemerovsky province suspended the operation of the maternity hospital at Novokuznetski City Clinical Hospital No. 1, where nine infants died, as reported by the Regional Court Press Service, which stated in the court that the epidemiological investigation of the hospital had "detected violations of health legislation and safety for human health".
