Coursera Backs Cofounder Andrew Ng's New AI Education Firm with $100 Million Investment

On Tuesday, Coursera chairman and co-founder Andrew Ng announced LearnVector, an AI-native education startup backed by a $100 million investment from Coursera.
Rejecting the so-called 'job apocalypse' narrative, Ng aims to teach white-collar workers new skills to ensure their professional relevance as AI automates more tasks.
The $100 million investment grants Coursera roughly a one-third stake in LearnVector, implying a valuation of about $300 million and representing nearly 13% of Coursera's $790 million in cash.
LearnVector plans to deploy AI agents as personal tutors that adapt to each learner, with products targeted for early 2027 to help adults master professional skills.
Coursera CEO Greg Hart stated that a special committee of independent directors unanimously approved the related-party investment, ensuring adherence to corporate governance protocols.
