The letter, addressed to Karol Nawrocki, was intended as an expression of support for his actions regarding the chaos surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal from the American Congress itself. However, it quickly became clear that the situation was somewhat different. By somewhat, I mean completely.
Texas Republican Congressman Keith Self wrote a letter to President Karol Nawrocki regarding the crisis in the Constitutional Tribunal. In it, the American politician expressed support for the head of state's actions against the ruling coalition. TV Republika, which first reported the matter, incorrectly reported the letter as representing the position of the entire U.S. House of Representatives.
"Your actions have clearly demonstrated to the world that state institutions in Poland cannot be taken over by a police cordon," writes Keith Self, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe in the US House of Representatives, in his letter to the Polish president. He points out that Karol Nawrocki's reaction was a response to a direct threat to Poland's constitutional order.
The dispute over the Constitutional Tribunal in Poland is also resonating overseas. Nikodem Rachoń, advisor to President Karol Nawrocki, revealed that the events of October 30th were among the topics discussed during the CPAC conference in Florida.
