The unemployment rate along the Forgotten Coast rose a tad in both Gulf and Franklin counties in June. According to preliminary data released last week by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Franklin County’s jobless rate went from 4.8 to 5.0 percent, and is now tied with Leon, Escambia, Gilchrist and Sarasota for 36th highest in the state among the state’s 67 counties. County’s unemployment increases to 4.6% in June, state’s rate ticks up slightly
The Texas Workforce Commission released labor market statistics for June last week and they showed that the statewide seasonally-adjusted unemployment rose 0.1 of a percent to 4.4 percent. Fayette and eight surrounding counties saw more significant increases in their rates (not seasonally adjusted).
