'Goodbye for Now' Coronation Street Star Leaves 'Dream' Role After 7 Years
Gallagher said the role was a dream as she left after seven years for a theatre part in The Silence Of The Lambs.
On Sunday, August 30, 2026, Mollie Gallagher aired her final episode as Nina Lucas on Coronation Street after seven years, departing the ITV soap to pursue other professional projects.
Gallagher paid tribute to the soap on Instagram, writing, "Nina and Corrie you have been a dream," having joined as Roy Cropper's niece in 2019 and remained a central character throughout her tenure.
Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha Alahan, said, "Always the Nina to my Asha," while Beth Nixon, who portrayed Megan Walsh, added, "So so proud of you and everything you have achieved."
Gallagher is set to join a touring production of The Silence of the Lambs, where she will play Clarice Starling, marking her transition from Weatherfield to theatrical performance.
The show has experienced several cast departures in recent years, including Gail Platt actor Helen Worth and Luca Toolan, who played Mason Radcliffe, amid budget cuts that reduced episode counts starting in January 2026.
