Coronation Street star forced to pull out of Channel 4 show at the last minute
Sunday Brunch said Mellor will miss tomorrow’s broadcast after falling ill, while Gregory Porter, Philippa Dunne and Daniel Weyman remain on the lineup.
Actor Will Mellor withdrew from Channel 4's Sunday Brunch on Saturday due to illness, unable to appear on tomorrow's broadcast. The program confirmed the withdrawal on social media, wishing him a "speedy recovery."
Mellor is known for playing Harvey Gaskell in the popular ITV soap Coronation Street. Sunday Brunch, which has aired since 2012, features interviews and cooking demonstrations mixed by presenters Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer.
Despite Mellor's absence, the show will still feature guests Gregory Porter, Philippa Dunne, and Daniel Weyman. Musical performances from Max Pope and The Djangos will proceed as scheduled on Channel 4 tomorrow at 10am.
Viewer reaction emerged on social media, with another person commenting, "Was looking forward to this- get well soon." The show's format of interviews and cooking segments will continue under presenters Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer.
Mellor has enjoyed a lengthy television career, starring in Hollyoaks as Jambo Bolton and EastEnders as Warren Stamp. More recently, he played Jimmy Spencer in The Teacher and Jack Harte in Woman of Substance.
