Construction of northern B.C.’s first indoor futsal facility underway in Prince Rupert

Construction has started on Ts'mtsaaw, the first indoor futsal facility in Northern B.C., located at 181 George Hills Way, led by the local youth soccer organization in Prince Rupert.
This project responds to Prince Rupert's rainy climate and eight-week outdoor soccer season by extending soccer activities to 30 weeks annually through indoor futsal.
The facility features a 5,000-square-foot multipurpose Sport Court built to industry standards, supporting futsal and other activities like pickleball and adaptive soccer.
Vice President William Gye stated that the project will broaden the range of activities and growth prospects available to players, coaches, and officials in both the local and surrounding communities.
Once operational in early fall 2025, Ts'mtsaaw will enhance community capacity by hosting regional tournaments and safer, year-round athletic development in Prince Rupert and northern B.C.
