On Tuesday, the Connecticut Sun defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 85-77 at TD Garden, with forward Olivia Nelson-Ododa recording 18 points and 11 rebounds and guard Kennedy Burke adding 17 points.
Playing at TD Garden for the third consecutive year, the Sun navigate their final season in New England before relocating to Houston. Sun president Jennifer Rizzotti said, "It's hard," acknowledging the team's decades in the region.
Connecticut shot 50.7% from the floor, seizing control during the third quarter with a 10-0 run. Guard Leila Lacan recorded 10 assists as the team pushed its lead to 21 points early in the fourth.
Despite 19 points from guard Rae Burrell and 18 from forward Nneka Ogwumike, Los Angeles dropped its fifth consecutive game. The Sparks remain nearly 8 games out of a playoff spot with nine regular-season games remaining.
Following Tuesday's loss, the Sparks host Atlanta on Thursday at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, the Sun conclude their final road trip with a visit to Las Vegas on Thursday.
