Holland Scores 18 and Colorado's Dismantles Abilene Christian with 58-Point Second Half
Colorado shot 60% from the field and outscored Abilene Christian 58-25 after halftime to win its season opener.
On Monday, the Colorado Buffaloes defeated Abilene Christian 94-59 in their season opener at the CU Events Center in Boulder, with Jalin Holland leading the team with 18 points and six rebounds.
Head coach Tad Boyle began his 17th season at the helm, maintaining an unbeaten home-opener record as the Buffaloes secured their 19th consecutive victory in these games.
Colorado shot 60% from the field, including 10-of-19 on 3-pointers, while outrebounding the Wildcats 39-24; five players finished in double figures, reflecting balanced offensive depth.
The Buffaloes next travel to face San Diego State on Saturday in the first annual Bill Walton Classic, marking their first road test of the season.
Boyle emphasized the need for offensive consistency after the win, saying "If we play and make plays for each other, we're going to be pretty successful." That's the ceiling for this team, he added.
