The Central Bank reported that the activity fell 0.2% in the period April-June, which adds to the -0.3% (corrected) of the first quarter.
GDP fell 0.2 % per year in the second quarter and completed two consecutive periods of contraction. Mining went back 6.4 % and investment stagnated, while non-mining GDP grew 0.7 % and household consumption rose 1.2 %.
The Chilean economy contracted 0.3% annually in the first quarter and 0.2% in the second quarter, thus accumulating a fall of 0.3% in the first half of 2026.
