- On Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad arrested 19-year Mohammad Nabeel from Azamgarh district for allegedly working with Al-Qaeda in the Indian subcontinent .
- Nabeel allegedly attempted to radicalize local youth via a WhatsApp group named 'La Ghalib Illallah,' seeking to recruit them as 'mujaheddins' and sharing the book '44 Ways to Support Jihad.'
- Using coded terms like 'trip,' 'pen,' 'juice' and 'project' to disguise references to jihad and weapons, Nabeel also joined the 'Flames' of War network with members from Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
- Authorities registered a case against Nabeel under Sections 152 and 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita , 2023, and Sections 18 and 38 of the Unlawful Activities Act , 1967.
- The suspect reportedly planned to promote 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' ideology and intended to travel to Pakistan and Bangladesh for training, while investigators continue probing his international terror network links.
