- His decision follows a breakout summer with Team CP3 at the Nike Peach Jam, where he averaged 23 points and 8.2 rebounds per game on 44.4% shooting across five appearances.
- Williams holds 27 offers and is considering nine programs including Duke, UNC, and Auburn. He is now eligible for the 2028 NBA draft and projected as a lottery pick.
- With Williams exiting the 2028 class, 7-1 center Yann Kamagate has ascended to the top ranking for that recruiting cycle. Kamagate holds offers from North Carolina, Baylor, and Kansas.
- Duke head coach Jon Scheyer continues to evaluate the 2027 class following Williams' move. Williams joins notable reclassifications including eventual first-overall NBA draft picks Cooper Flagg and Andrew Wiggins.
