CJ Stroud Reveals How He Helped Marvin Harrison Jr. Get Traded to Texans
The Houston Texans acquired wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. from the Arizona Cardinals on Monday, sending a second and sixth-round pick in exchange for Harrison and a seventh-round pick.
Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud influenced the trade, calling Houston a "perfect" fit for Harrison after their chemistry together at Ohio State, where both played college football.
Harrison, the fourth overall pick in the 2024 draft, recorded more than 2,400 yards receiving and 28 touchdowns during his final two seasons with the Buckeyes, but struggled in Arizona with 885 and 608 yards over two seasons.
Head coach DeMeco Ryans stated the team is not concerned about Harrison's Arizona tenure, telling the receiver to focus on helping the Texans and that he receives a "clean slate."
Following a dominant 26-3 win over Tennessee on Sunday, Houston faces a pivotal Week 6 game in London against the AFC South-leading Jaguars, where Stroud will have Harrison as a familiar target.
